Bunnies For Adoption
These are our current bunnies for adoption. Please fill out our foster/adoption form to get the process started!

Annabelle
Meet Annabelle! Annabelle was part of the same animal control seizure as Mirabel where a huge amount of animals were found living in horrible conditions.
Annabelle is shy but also has shown some sass. She is bolder than Mirabel. She is curious about people but still wary. At the moment, she will tolerate very brief petting but then will retreat. She would do well with an adopter/foster who is patient and willing to work at her pace to gain her trust. She would likely also do well with a bunny friend.
She is spayed and up to date on RHDV vaccination. She is very neat with her litterbox habits also.

Mirabel
Introducing Mirabel! Mirabel was rescued as part of an animal control seizure. She was found with a multitude of other rabbits living in horrible conditions. She is a beautiful bunny who looks a lot like a wild cottontail!
Mirabel needs a very special foster or adoptive home. Due to her experiences in the past, she is extremely shy and fearful of people. However, we have worked slowly with her and she has made great strides. You can tell she WANTS to trust but she is just fighting past demons. She needs a foster or adopter who is willing to work with her slowly and at her own pace. She would need a quiet household and someone with a kind, patient and gentle nature. We believe bunnies like Mirabel can find happiness and we are dedicated to finding her the right situation no matter how long it takes. It would be great for Mirabel to either find a home or foster to work with her or she would be great as a companion to a more confident bunny.

GiGi
This is Gigi! Gigi was dumped with three other bunnies at Congaree Swamp in the midlands of South Carolina. A kind man who regularly goes to hike there was able to catch Gigi but despite trying his best, was unable to catch the others and they disappeared.
Gigi is still a baby under 6 months old. She is very outgoing and playful! She loves a good cuddle too. Gigi is very curious and loves to explore. She has a gorgeous black coat that is hard to capture through photos. She also has very good litter habits and has since she arrived. Gigi loves her hay, pellets, salad, and treats and we are working to help her gain weight. She was very skinny when she first came to us.
Gigi is fully vaccinated for RHDV (yearly boosters are required). She will be spayed when she is the appropriate age/weight. If you are interested in making Gigi a part of your family, please fill out our adoption application at https://form.jotform.com/230096007721044

Winnie
Winnie was dumped in traffic at a Greenville area Walmart. She had also been totally shaved for some reason. A kind person spent half an hour trying to catch Winnie and was successful! Thank goodness because Winnie would have likely been run over in that high traffic area.
Winnie is gray and white with blue eyes. Her coat is growing back nicely and feels so silky. She has personality plus! 🥰. She loves company and getting pets from her human. Winnie is one of the most curious rabbits we have had here. She absolutely must know what is going on and wants to be in the middle of it. She is an adventurous bunny and loves exploring. She would love to be either free roam or have lots of time to explore out of her exercise pen. She loves cats but does not care for dogs so far. Her litter box skills are on point so far.
Winnie is spayed and has completed her RHDV vaccination series (yearly booster required). Beauty, personality, and intelligence - what more could you ask for? 😉❤️

Wilbur
We believe Wilbur is an older bunny. He spent his whole life in a small pet store cage with no toys, no hay, and no exercise. By the time he finally got to rescue, his teeth were severely overgrown and he had to have them removed. He also did not have a lot of muscle strength since he never got exercise. And he had some mild arthritis.
Look at Wilbur now! This handsome boy is with one of our medical fosters and is a different bunny. He is on daily metacam for arthritis, has plenty of toys and hay and has built those muscles back. Wilbur is very social. He seems to prefer men but anyone with a treat is welcome. 😉. He is curious and loves to run around and play. He is able to eat normal bunny foods despite his front teeth being removed. Wilbur does need occasional cleaning and sanitary trims for “poopy butt” most likely due to his arthritis. His foster lives overseas for part of the year which makes it impossible for her to adopt him. If you can open your home and heart to Wilbur so he can finally have a real permanent home, please fill out our application by clicking Apply Now at https://www.hoppyheartssc.org/adopt

Loki
Loki is a young rabbit under one year old. He was found dumped in a Greenville area neighborhood and found by a resident. When he came to Hoppy Hearts, he was just a little guy, but he has grown a lot and is now a big bunny!
Loki is personality plus and his name fits him perfectly! He is extremely curious and likes to be part of what is going on around him. He also has a mischievous streak and will keep you entertained! Since neuter, he has done well with litter box training. His passion is to be out of his ex pen exploring. After he has used up some energy, he does enjoy a good pet. If you are looking for personality, intelligence, and mischievous leanings, he is your man. It is difficult to be around him and not smile.
Loki is neutered and up to date on RHDV vaccine. To apply to adopt or foster, please click the Apply Now button at the top of our Adopt page.

Dottie
Dottie is a cuddle bunny extraordinaire! She will literally sit in your lap and cuddle just as long as you will allow it! She genuinely loves people. This sweet rabbit was dumped in a neighborhood in Newberry, SC. She actually came up very readily to the person who brought her to us. She has been with us over a year and she is so ready for a loving forever home!
We estimate Dottie to be about 2-1/2 to 3 years old. She is spayed and up to date on RHDV vaccination (yearly booster needed.

Buster
Buster was dumped in a Columbia area neighborhood. The neighbors all worked together to catch Buster and get him to safety. Buster had some mites and was a bit dirty and thin but he has recovered from all of that here at the rescue. He has turned into a beautiful rabbit!
Buster is not a huge fan of being picked up. However, he is a huge fan of sitting on a lap and getting petted. In fact, it usually relaxes him so much that he falls asleep. He is a little shy but it doesn't take him long to come out of his shell. Treats help a lot! He loves food. He also has very good litterbox skills.
We are unsure of Buster's age but we think a little over a year old. He has been neutered and is up to date on RHDV vaccination (yearly boosters required).

Zip
Zip is a very special bunny at Hoppy Hearts SC. He has helped to raise awareness about animal welfare laws as they relate to rabbits in our state due to his story. Zip was found in an automotive shop by a couple. They saw him with both front and back legs zip tied together in a box with no food or water. They left with the rabbit and called the police. The police said there was nothing they could do about the person doing that to Zip. However, they did tell the couple that they had to pay the person for the rabbit or they could be charged with stealing! They paid the person in order to get the rabbit to safety.
When Zip got to us, he was understandably very wary of people. With slow work by our wonderful foster, Zip has become very comfortable in his foster home. He likes to be petted on his terms and will ask for that when he feels like it. If you do something he does not feel comfortable with, he will lunge and grunt but has not bitten. He just expresses his opinion. :)
We think Zip is a middle aged rabbit, though we are not sure of his exact age. He needs a home that will give him time to become comfortable with his new environment and will listen and respect his cues. We think he is owed that after everything he has been through.

Tyche
Tyche (pronounced tie-key) came in to Hoppy Hearts SC when she was only 3 weeks old! We estimate her to be about 5 months old now. A lady was walking in her neighborhood when she saw some cats chasing a tiny white bunny. This good Samaritan shooed away the cats and captured Tyche.
Tyche had been bitten and scratched by the cats. We got her vet care and bottlefed her and gave her antibiotics. She did very well! We found out she had escaped from a local rabbit meat farm in the neighborhood. We named her Tyche because that is the Greek goddess of good fortune and she has certainly had her share, thank goodness!
Tyche is a sweet girl and very smart. She loves a good cuddle. She has been spayed and is up to date on her RHDV vaccines. She is so ready to bring joy and luck to the right home!

Red
A couple of months ago we received a call about 3 bunnies dumped in a cardboard box in a severe thunderstorm at a baseball field in the Lexington area. The soggy box contained three soaking wet young rabbits. Red was one of them. He was covered in fleas and mud, soaking wet but still so friendly. We took him and the other two in. Red was a beauty when we found him and even more so now that he has cleaned himself up and been in a safe environment for a while.
Red is smart. He can figure out challenges very quickly. He is also very outgoing and curious. He is quick to greet anyone who comes into the rescue. No shyness here!
Red is working on his litter box skills and we feel they will get better after neuter. He is also up to date on RHDV vaccination. To apply to adopt or foster Red after his neuter, please click Apply Now at the top of our Adopt page.

Chewy & Lilibet
Chewy and Lillibet are a bonded pair and must be adopted together. These bunnies were dumped in a carrier at an emergency vet one night without a word. A staff member found them. Chewy is an angora and he was very matted and weighed down with fur due to poor care. Chewy was shaved and seemed so relieved to see that matted mess go! Lilibet was scared and needed nail trim and other basic care. They were so scared at the time that it was difficult to tell if they were bonded, but after time at their Hoppy Hearts SC foster home, it became evident that they were.
Chewy is an angora so will need an adopter who is willing to keep up with his grooming needs or who is willing to take him to a vet or groomer to do so. Chewy is super friendly and has never met a stranger. He melts for pets!
Lilibet is a little more reserved and may take time to warm up. She is very well mannered and takes treats very gently. She is so cute and ladylike.
Bonded pairs are so fun to watch. Plus, they have the added bonus of keeping each other company when you have to be away. Chewy has been neutered. The vet believes that Lilibet has a spay scar and that she has been spayed. Both are up to date on their RHDV shots. To apply to adopt, please click the Apply Now button at the top of our Adopt page.

Billie & Psi
Billie and Psi are a bonded pair and must be adopted together. Billie and Psi met here at the rescue after coming in from different areas. They quickly became bonded.
Billie is a female who was dumped at some apartments in the Irmo area of South Carolina. Our volunteers caught Billie and brought her to safety. Billie is a brave bunny. She loves treats and likes pets. She hates being picked up. When she first got to rescue, she would cry when picked up but she no longer does that. You can tell she feels safe now. She hates the picking up part but does not mind cuddling if she is in the mood.
Psi was found in a separate neighborhood, also in the Irmo area. Psi had been on his own for quite a while. Our volunteers caught Psi after a full day of trying. He was terrified, hungry, and dirty. He has come such a long way. Psi is still shy but enjoys petting. Billie is definitely the braver of the two, and it is sweet to see how she checks things out for Psi and lets him know everything is ok. Psi's confidence has improved so much since he has bonded with Billie!

Finn
Finn is a young rabbit found dumped after Easter in a Charlotte area neighborhood. He had been on his own for a couple of weeks in a neighborhood of big dogs, lots of feral cats, and busy roads before our volunteers caught him. Finn's former owners had stated they did not care if he was hit by a car. :(
Finn is a young rabbit, likely under a year old. Finn has definitely not let his experience scar him in the least. He is a brave bunny and always investigating new things. He is curious and extremely intelligent. His foster has already taught him a few tricks! He loves toys and treats and overall has a happy personality.
Finn does seem to prefer having a large area to call his own so he may do best as either free roam or with a lot of time out of his exercise pen enclosure to explore.
Finn is neutered and up to date on RHDV vaccination. If you are interested in adopting Finn, please click Apply Now at the top of our Adopt page.
