Bunnies For Adoption
These are our current bunnies for adoption. Please fill out our foster/adoption form to get the process started!

Annabelle
Meet Annabelle! Annabelle was part of the same animal control seizure as Mirabel where a huge amount of animals were found living in horrible conditions.
Annabelle is shy but also has shown some sass. She is bolder than Mirabel. She is curious about people but still wary. At the moment, she will tolerate very brief petting but then will retreat. She would do well with an adopter/foster who is patient and willing to work at her pace to gain her trust. She would likely also do well with a bunny friend.
She is spayed and up to date on RHDV vaccination. Yearly booster required. She is very neat with her litterbox habits also.

Mirabel
Introducing Mirabel! Mirabel was rescued as part of an animal control seizure. She was found with a multitude of other rabbits living in horrible conditions. She is a beautiful bunny who looks a lot like a wild cottontail!
Mirabel needs a very special foster or adoptive home. Due to her experiences in the past, she is extremely shy and fearful of people. However, we have worked slowly with her and she has made great strides. You can tell she WANTS to trust but she is just fighting past demons. She needs a foster or adopter who is willing to work with her slowly and at her own pace. She would need a quiet household and someone with a kind, patient and gentle nature. We believe bunnies like Mirabel can find happiness and we are dedicated to finding her the right situation no matter how long it takes. It would be great for Mirabel to either find a home or foster to work with her or she would be great as a companion to a more confident bunny.

Wilbur
We believe Wilbur is an older bunny. He spent his whole life in a small pet store cage with no toys, no hay, and no exercise. By the time he finally got to rescue, his teeth were severely overgrown and he had to have them removed. He also did not have a lot of muscle strength since he never got exercise. And he had some mild arthritis.
Look at Wilbur now! This handsome boy is with one of our medical fosters and is a different bunny. He is on daily metacam for arthritis, has plenty of toys and hay and has built those muscles back. Wilbur is very social. He seems to prefer men but anyone with a treat is welcome. 😉. He is curious and loves to run around and play. He is able to eat normal bunny foods despite his front teeth being removed. Wilbur does need occasional cleaning and sanitary trims for “poopy butt” most likely due to his arthritis. His foster lives overseas for part of the year which makes it impossible for her to adopt him. If you can open your home and heart to Wilbur so he can finally have a real permanent home, please fill out our application by clicking Apply Now at https://www.hoppyheartssc.org/adopt

Loki
Loki is now a year old and doing great in his foster home. Loki was found dumped in a Greenville area neighborhood and found by a resident. When he came to Hoppy Hearts, he was just a little guy, but he has grown a lot and is now a big bunny!
Loki is personality plus and his name fits him perfectly! He is extremely curious and likes to be part of what is going on around him. He also has a mischievous streak and will keep you entertained! His foster says he is a big foodie!
Since neuter, he has done well with litter box training. His passion is to be out of his ex pen exploring. After he has used up some energy, he does enjoy a good pet. If you are looking for personality, intelligence, and mischievous leanings, he is your man. It is difficult to be around him and not smile.
Loki is neutered and up to date on RHDV vaccine. Yearly booster is required. To apply to adopt or foster, please click the Apply Now button at https://www.hoppyheartssc.org/adopt

Buster
Buster was dumped in a Columbia area neighborhood. The neighbors all worked together to catch Buster and get him to safety. Buster had some mites and was a bit dirty and thin but he has recovered from all of that here at the rescue. He has turned into a beautiful rabbit!
Buster is not a huge fan of being picked up. However, he is a huge fan of sitting on a lap and getting petted. In fact, it usually relaxes him so much that he falls asleep. He is a little shy but it doesn't take him long to come out of his shell. Treats help a lot! He loves food. He also has very good litterbox skills.
We are unsure of Buster's age but we think a little over a year old. He has been neutered and is up to date on RHDV vaccination (yearly boosters required).

Zip
Zip is a very special bunny at Hoppy Hearts SC. He has helped to raise awareness about animal welfare laws as they relate to rabbits in our state due to his story. Zip was found in an automotive shop by a couple. They saw him with both front and back legs zip tied together in a box with no food or water. They left with the rabbit and called the police. The police said there was nothing they could do about the person doing that to Zip. However, they did tell the couple that they had to pay the person for the rabbit or they could be charged with stealing! They paid the person in order to get the rabbit to safety.
When Zip got to us, he was understandably very wary of people. With slow work by our wonderful foster, Zip has become very comfortable in his foster home. He likes to be petted on his terms and will ask for that when he feels like it. If you do something he does not feel comfortable with, he will lunge and grunt but has not bitten. He just expresses his opinion. :)
We think Zip is a middle aged rabbit, though we are not sure of his exact age. He needs a home that will give him time to become comfortable with his new environment and will listen and respect his cues. We think he is owed that after everything he has been through.
Zip is neutered and vaccinated for RHDV (yearly booster required).

Tyche
Tyche (pronounced tie-key) came in to Hoppy Hearts SC when she was only 3 weeks old! We estimate her to be about 5 months old now. A lady was walking in her neighborhood when she saw some cats chasing a tiny white bunny. This good Samaritan shooed away the cats and captured Tyche.
Tyche had been bitten and scratched by the cats. We got her vet care and bottlefed her and gave her antibiotics. She did very well! We found out she had escaped from a local rabbit meat farm in the neighborhood. We named her Tyche because that is the Greek goddess of good fortune and she has certainly had her share, thank goodness!
Tyche is a sweet girl and very smart. She loves a good cuddle. She has been spayed and is up to date on her RHDV vaccines. Yearly booster is required. She is so ready to bring joy and luck to the right home!

Billie & Psi
Billie and Psi are a bonded pair and must be adopted together. Billie and Psi met here at the rescue after coming in from different areas. They quickly became bonded.
Billie is a female who was dumped at some apartments in the Irmo area of South Carolina. Our volunteers caught Billie and brought her to safety. Billie is a brave bunny. She loves treats and likes pets. She hates being picked up. When she first got to rescue, she would cry when picked up but she no longer does that. You can tell she feels safe now. She hates the picking up part but does not mind cuddling if she is in the mood.
Psi was found in a separate neighborhood, also in the Irmo area. Psi had been on his own for quite a while. Our volunteers caught Psi after a full day of trying. He was terrified, hungry, and dirty. He has come such a long way. Psi is still shy but enjoys petting. Billie is definitely the braver of the two, and it is sweet to see how she checks things out for Psi and lets him know everything is ok. Psi's confidence has improved so much since he has bonded with Billie!

May
May is a baby, probably only a few months old. She was dumped and living in a brush pile in the backyard of the finder. They happened to spot her one day when they were taking a walk around the yard. She was found right after Easter, which leads us to believe she may have been a discarded "Easter present". Thankfully, this little girl was ready to be helped and was not at all hard to catch.
May is a joy to be around. She is already doing great with her litter box skills and she loves people. She wants to be with us and the volunteers as often as possible! Being a baby, she still is very much learning about and testing her environment, which means she likes to explore and play and sometimes get into mischief.
Right now we are waiting for May to put on enough weight to be spayed. She is already fully vaccinated for RHDV (yearly booster required). If you are interested in adopting or fostering May, please click Apply Now on the Adopt page of our website and fill out our application.

Storm
Storm is still a baby, probably only a few months old. He was dumped in the Charlotte, NC area just after Easter and approached a person in a driveway of a home looking for help.
Storm appears to be a Rex (curly whiskers and all). He is VERY friendly and very curious. He prefers exploring to being held, but once he uses up that extra energy, he enjoys a cuddle. He is at the age where he is exploring and learning so it is especially important in his case to make sure bunny proofing is thorough. He is as smart as he is beautiful!
He has been fully vaccinated for RHDV (booster required yearly). As soon as he reaches the necessary weight and is ready, he will be neutered. After that he will be for adoption.

Debbie and Daisy
Debbie and Daisy are a bonded pair of Dutch rabbits who must be adopted together. These two bunnies were dumped at a local veterinary clinic. The staff came in to find them in a box outside of their office. Debbie and Daisy are very well adjusted bunnies. They enjoy being part of the family and like to be included. Their foster says they love to jump up on the couch with the family and are very outgoing.
Debbie and Daisy are in a foster home with cats and older children and they do very well with them. They love playing in tunnels and have excellent litter box habits!
Daisy and Debbie are up to date on RHDV (yearly booster needed) and they have been spayed.

Snickers
Snickers is a Netherland dwarf bunny. He had been abandoned on a neighbor's doorstep in a cage. The neighbor was moving out of the country and had "purchased something on Amazon to euthanize” Snickers. We stepped in and took the bunny in.
Snickers is a young adult bunny. He is very sweet and outgoing. Currently, he is in a foster with young children, cats, and a very elderly dog and is doing great! He is a confident bunny and would probably do well in an active home. He is very loving.
Snickers is neutered and up to date on RHDV vaccination (yearly booster needed). He has good litter box skills.
If you are interested in adding Snickers to your family, please fill out our application by clicking Apply Now on the Adopt page of our web site.

Myles
Myles has a sad story. We had received calls about a bunny who had been loose in a Greenville area neighborhood for a few weeks. Volunteers went out to catch him but were not able to capture him. Then, sightings stopped. A week or so later we got a call from someone who had found the same bunny dumped in her yard, which was about 15 miles away from the other neighborhood. So it appears Myles was dumped twice. He is now safe with us at the rescue.
Myles LOVES food. It is definitely the way to his heart! He does not love being picked up and will run from you when you try. However, it is really just the picking up part that bothers him. If you let him come to you or sit with him on your lap, he quickly calms down. This will likely continue to improve as he feels safe.
Myles is probably 1 to 2 years old. He is neutered and up to date on his RHDV vaccination (yearly booster needed). He is doing well with litter box training.
If you would like to foster or adopt Myles, please fill out our application by clicking Apply Now on the Adopt page of our web site.

Cannoli (formerly Red)
Cannoli was formerly known as Red until he lost his red coloring during a shed. Lol! He is now a beautiful sable color. Cannoli is going on 1 year old. He was one of 3 brothers who were dumped last summer on a baseball field in the middle of a severe thunderstorm in the Midlands area of the state. His 2 brothers have been adopted.
Cannoli has a great personality! He is an explorer and confident. He is also friendly and loves sitting with volunteers while they groom other bunnies and talk. He likes to monitor exactly what is going on in his environment. He has silly moments that make him so endearing!
Cannoli is neutered and up to date on his RHDV vaccination (yearly booster required). If you would like to adopt any of our bunnies, please fill out our application by clicking Apply Now on the Adopt page of our web site.
