Bunnies For Adoption
These are our current bunnies for adoption. Please fill out our foster/adoption form to get the process started!

Annabelle
Meet Annabelle! Annabelle was part of the same animal control seizure as Mirabel where a huge amount of animals were found living in horrible conditions.
Annabelle is shy but also has shown some sass. She is bolder than Mirabel. She is curious about people but still wary. At the moment, she will tolerate very brief petting but then will retreat. She would do well with an adopter/foster who is patient and willing to work at her pace to gain her trust. She would likely also do well with a bunny friend.
She is spayed and up to date on RHDV vaccination. She is very neat with her litterbox habits also.

Mirabel
Introducing Mirabel! Mirabel was rescued as part of an animal control seizure. She was found with a multitude of other rabbits living in horrible conditions. She is a beautiful bunny who looks a lot like a wild cottontail!
Mirabel needs a very special foster or adoptive home. Due to her experiences in the past, she is extremely shy and fearful of people. However, we have worked slowly with her and she has made great strides. You can tell she WANTS to trust but she is just fighting past demons. She needs a foster or adopter who is willing to work with her slowly and at her own pace. She would need a quiet household and someone with a kind, patient and gentle nature. We believe bunnies like Mirabel can find happiness and we are dedicated to finding her the right situation no matter how long it takes. It would be great for Mirabel to either find a home or foster to work with her or she would be great as a companion to a more confident bunny.

Athena
Athena is a gorgeous blue-eyed bunny. Our estimate is she is about 1 year old. She was found dumped in a mesh carrier outside of an apartment complex in Charlotte, NC. Luckily, someone found her before she was out in the heat for too long and fostered her until we had room to take her in.
Athena is sweet and sassy! The perfect combination! She likes to "talk" to you by grunting and definitely has an opinion on most things. :) She also loves being petted and groomed.
Athena has been spayed and has been vaccinated against RHDV. A yearly booster will be needed. If you are interested in giving this princess her forever home, please fill out our foster/adoption application by clicking on the Apply Now button at the top of this page.

Psi
Psi (aka Simon) was dumped in an Irmo neighborhood probably when someone moved out of a rental property. It took a full day for us to capture him and multiple trips to catch another dumped bunny in the neighborhood. Psi was terrified both at capture and for the first few weeks at the rescue. As you can see, he has made great progress and is now taking treats from our hands. He also enjoys being petted and playing! Psi is now bonded to Billie and they must be adopted as a pair.
Our best guess on Psi’s age is between 1 and 2 years old. He will need an adopter who will let him progress at his pace. Here, with a calm environment, patience and love it has not taken him long to open up considering his past experiences. His litterbox habits have been good since neuter.
Psi is neutered and up to date on RHDV shots. He will need a yearly booster. If you are interested in Psi, please fill out our application at https://form.jotform.com/230096007721044

GiGi
This is Gigi! Gigi was dumped with three other bunnies at Congaree Swamp in the midlands of South Carolina. A kind man who regularly goes to hike there was able to catch Gigi but despite trying his best, was unable to catch the others and they disappeared.
Gigi is still a baby under 6 months old. She is very outgoing and playful! She loves a good cuddle too. Gigi is very curious and loves to explore. She has a gorgeous black coat that is hard to capture through photos. She also has very good litter habits and has since she arrived. Gigi loves her hay, pellets, salad, and treats and we are working to help her gain weight. She was very skinny when she first came to us.
Gigi is fully vaccinated for RHDV (yearly boosters are required). She will be spayed when she is the appropriate age/weight. If you are interested in making Gigi a part of your family, please fill out our adoption application at https://form.jotform.com/230096007721044

Benjamin
Benjamin and another bunny first came to the attention of Hoppy Hearts SC in late November/early December 2023 when one of our volunteers, who helps with capturing dumped bunnies, received a call about 2 dumped bunnies near a strip shopping mall in the Charlotte, NC area. The volunteer went to check out the situation and met an individual who said the bunnies were her pets and had escaped but she would catch them. The person was homeless and living in her car with the bunnies. Our volunteer came back a few days later and the person had gotten the bunnies back in her car. We offered to help with food and hay for the bunnies but she was definitely not interested. She loved the bunnies and was likely afraid we were trying to take them from her. The bunnies did appear well taken care of. Our volunteer left her card and also left a card with a business owner at the shopping mall in case needed.
Our volunteer later received a call from the business owner letting her know that the individual had been found deceased outside of her car. Our volunteer searched online to find where the bunnies had been taken and was able to find them at a local animal shelter. We were able to pull Benjamin but the other bunny was already adopted before we found out where the rabbits were.
Benjamin is being fostered by the same volunteer who took the first call. He has settled in with his foster and is beginning to relax and enjoy his new life. Benjamin is a confident bunny and is quite sassy! He is definitely an alpha bunny. Right now he is laid back and comfortable a lot of the time but still has days where he is more intense about things. He loves petting when he is relaxed and will “purr” in appreciation. He will definitely need an experienced bunny home without children. Benjamin is a gorgeous bunny!
Benjamin has been neutered and has completed his RHDV vaccine series. He is ready for his forever family. If you are interested in adopting or fostering any of our bunnies, apply online at https://form.jotform.com/230096007721044

Billie
Billie was found dumped at a Harbison area apartment complex. She was noticed standing out in the rain by a resident who contacted us. Two of our bunny catching volunteers went out and caught Billie.
Billie is a young female most probably around 8 to 10 months old. She is a friendly and curious bunny once she feels comfortable. She really dislikes being picked up and at first, she would actually cry when being picked up. However, she has improved greatly. She does love attention and petting. She has very good litterbox habits. She is currently bonded with Psi and they must be adopted as a pair.
Billie has been spayed and is up to date on her RHDV shots. She will need a booster yearly. If you are interested in giving Billie her forever home, please fill out our application at https://form.jotform.com/230096007721044

Winnie
Winnie was dumped in traffic at a Greenville area Walmart. She had also been totally shaved for some reason. A kind person spent half an hour trying to catch Winnie and was successful! Thank goodness because Winnie would have likely been run over in that high traffic area.
Winnie is gray and white with blue eyes. Her coat is growing back nicely and feels so silky. She has personality plus! 🥰. She loves company and getting pets from her human. Winnie is one of the most curious rabbits we have had here. She absolutely must know what is going on and wants to be in the middle of it. She is an adventurous bunny and loves exploring. She would love to be either free roam or have lots of time to explore out of her exercise pen. She loves cats but does not care for dogs so far. Her litter box skills are on point so far.
Winnie is spayed and has completed her RHDV vaccination series (yearly booster required). Beauty, personality, and intelligence - what more could you ask for? 😉❤️

Wilbur
We believe Wilbur is an older bunny. He spent his whole life in a small pet store cage with no toys, no hay, and no exercise. By the time he finally got to rescue, his teeth were severely overgrown and he had to have them removed. He also did not have a lot of muscle strength since he never got exercise. And he had some mild arthritis.
Look at Wilbur now! This handsome boy is with one of our medical fosters and is a different bunny. He is on daily metacam for arthritis, has plenty of toys and hay and has built those muscles back. Wilbur is very social. He seems to prefer men but anyone with a treat is welcome. 😉. He is curious and loves to run around and play. He is able to eat normal bunny foods despite his front teeth being removed. Wilbur does need occasional cleaning and sanitary trims for “poopy butt” most likely due to his arthritis. His foster lives overseas for part of the year which makes it impossible for her to adopt him. If you can open your home and heart to Wilbur so he can finally have a real permanent home, please fill out our application by clicking Apply Now at https://www.hoppyheartssc.org/adopt

Loki
Loki is a young rabbit under a year old. He was dumped in a neighborhood as a small baby. Luckily, a resident found him and took him in.
Loki is personality plus! He is very curious, adventurous and playful. He likes being petted and always wants to be in the middle of whatever is going on. We think he will be a larger bunny when he is finished growing.
Loki is fully vaccinated and will be neutered very soon. He would likely do very well as a free roam bunny or at least with lots of free roam time outside of his exercise pen. He will keep you on your toes and laughing. He is a special boy.

Pepper
Pepper was left behind when someone moved out of an apartment. She was living in a small cage with cedar shavings (big no no). She was brought to our attention since she had nowhere to go.
Pepper is another young rabbit, probably about 6 months old. Her experience has not affected her negatively. Her foster says she is the sweetest bunny and loves people. She definitely needs to be a valued part of a family because she loves people.
This girl has been spayed and is fully vaccinated for RHDV (yearly boosters needed). She is ready for her new home.

Dottie
Dottie is a cuddle bunny extraordinaire! She will literally sit in your lap and cuddle just as long as you will allow it! She genuinely loves people. This sweet rabbit was dumped in a neighborhood in Newberry, SC. She actually came up very readily to the person who brought her to us. She has been with us over a year and she is so ready for a loving forever home!
We estimate Dottie to be about 2-1/2 to 3 years old. She is spayed and up to date on RHDV vaccination (yearly booster needed.

Lilibet
Lilibet and another bunny (Chewy) were abandoned at a veterinarian's office. Lilibet’s foster chose her name because she is very proper and polite. She takes treats very politely from your hand - except banana! It is her favorite and she grabs it (No nipping or biting though) lol! Lilibet loves her free roam time and has great litter box skills. She is spayed and vaccinated for RHDV (yearly booster required). If you need a pretty, proper little princess in your life (again, except when bananas are involved 😁), consider filling out an application for Lilibet by clicking Apply Now at https://www.hoppyheartssc.org/adopt

Chewy
Chewy is an angora rabbit who was dumped at a veterinarian's office with Lillibet. They do not appear to be bonded. Chewy's fur was severely matted and it was obvious he had been neglected for a long time. His fur was shaved and he was neutered and vaccinated.
His foster describes Chewy as very relaxed and friendly. He never met a stranger. This bunny loves to socialize!! Our foster's husband absolutely loves him and so does everyone else who meets him.
Please note angora bunnies require much more intensive grooming than other rabbits so be ready for this when adding one to your family.

Buster
Buster was dumped in a Columbia area neighborhood. The neighbors all worked together to catch Buster and get him to safety. Buster had some mites and was a bit dirty and thin but he has recovered from all of that here at the rescue. He has turned into a beautiful rabbit!
Buster is not a huge fan of being picked up. However, he is a huge fan of sitting on a lap and getting petted. In fact, it usually relaxes him so much that he falls asleep. He is a little shy but it doesn't take him long to come out of his shell. Treats help a lot! He loves food. He also has very good litterbox skills.
We are unsure of Buster's age but we think a little over a year old. He has been neutered and is up to date on RHDV vaccination (yearly boosters required).
